Saturday, April 11th: Susquehanna Speedway Park: ARDC Midgets
It was raining when we loaded the racing trailer, but by the time we got to the track, there wasn't a cloud in the sky! In fact, it was so sunny and windy, that the track surface was very dry and dusty. We missed on the gearing for the heat race and unfortunately dropped from 3rd back to 7th-one position away from a transfer spot! Determined to not have to compete in a consolation race, I passed for the 6th spot coming out of turn 4 on the last lap. Phew! For the feature, it was a one-groove racetrack right around the bottom. I started 9th and finished 8th and although that may not sound very exciting, it was a hard fought 8th, as cars shuffled backward and forward. If you gave an inch, they took a mile! Thanks to Dad and Uncle Gary for their constant dedication and setting up the car so that it was able to run that low line. Thanks also to Joe, Jared, my sponsors and fans for their continued support. For those that attended the races, thanks for braving the cold!
The next ARDC midget race is on Friday, May 1st at Williams Grove Speedway, PA. My racing plans for this weekend are: driving for Rob Warko Racing at Linda's Speedway in the microsprints on Friday and then racing the 305 sprint at Lincoln on Saturday. We'll see you at the races!
